Even though I’m a military brat, I’m still a true Southern girl. Our family has always called the Gulf Coast home base because my grandmother’s house on Burkart Drive on Canal Road was the one place we always knew as home.

Even though we spent a lot of time traveling the country, I actually graduated from Foley High School in 1993 as my dad was in his short-lived civilian phase of life.

I suppose the military lifestyle never got out of my system because even during my adult years, I still traveled a lot. I went to The University of Alabama for a semester, then cashed in on a free trip to Germany since my dad wound up stationed there. I came back to almost finish at Bama when I thought it would be a good idea to chase a boy to London. That didn’t work out, but not to worry because that’s when I found my true love, Bill Tyler. Bill and I had been friends for the longest time and moved from T-Town to Birmingham where both of us worked in the radio biz for WZZK, Oldies 106.9 and Rock 97.3. Fate then took us to the small town of Bend, Oregon for two years where we got a taste of snow and the Cascade Mountains. Bend is a beautiful area of the country and in 2004 Bill and I got married at Tumalo Falls just 9 days after Hurricane Ivan. Once the cold weather sank in a little too much, we moved back to the Gulf Coast and bought a little bit of land in between Elberta and Lillian. We hope to soon build our dream home there.

Some things to know about me are that I adore my hubby, of course, my cat children, Classie and Zephyrmandias, and Harry Potter. I will kill you if make fun of my cat’s name, if you try to wake me up or if you have any form of mushroom or poo-looking fungus within two feet of me .
